Ross, founding partner of Sichenzia Ross Friedman Ference LLP, was a featured presenter at Hofstra University School of Law’s symposium: “Puff the Magic Medicine – The Medical Marijuana Movement”. The forum, which was both CLE and CME accredited, was part of the ongoing Garfunkel Wild Thought Leadership in Action Speaker Series, and examined the existing conflict between state and federal marijuana laws, the commercial significance of recently enacted marijuana-related laws and regulations, and the clinical implications of marijuana use in healthcare.
An authority on issues surrounding the current marijuana legalization debate, Mr. Ross spoke on the “Financial Implications to Marijuana-Related Businesses and New York’s Compassionate Care Act.” His presentation discussed the key financial, legal, tax-related issues and risks that marijuana-related companies currently face as well as the implications of the 2014 New York State Compassionate Care Act.
Mr. Ross is currently an Adjunct Professor teaching the first law class on marijuana at Hofstra University School of Law entitled Law 2737: “Business and Law of Marijuana”.
