Introduction
Owen Kloter is a Partner in the Firm's Business Litigation and Broker-Dealer Regulation Practice Groups. Mr. Kloter's practice focuses on commercial, estate, and securities litigation in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. With over 15 years of experience, Mr. Kloter has successfully represented corporate and individual clients in federal and state courts in the tri-state area in all phases of civil litigation, from its inception through trial and appeal. He has also represented clients in resolving pre-litigation disputes, arbitrations, and mediations.
Specialties
Mr. Kloter has litigated contractual and partnership disputes, defamation, unfair competition, and other business tort claims, and has negotiated employment and severance agreements. He has represented clients in securities litigation involving broker-dealer and insurance broker issues, trust and estate litigations involving contested probate, accounting, guardianship, and trust fiduciary matters, and in real estate litigations including contested foreclosures advocating for both borrowers and lenders, and landlord/tenant proceedings.

Mr. Kloter was named a Rising Star in Business Litigation each year from 2014 through 2023 by Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers Magazine, an honor reserved for no more than two and one-half percent of the lawyers under 40 in the New York Metro area. He is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and previously served on its Commercial Law Committee. He currently serves on the Board of Directors and/or as a corporate officer of several historical and patriotic 501(c)(3) organizations in New York. Prior to joining Sichenzia Ross Ference Carmel LLP, Mr. Kloter was associated with a Long Island-based firm where he represented a Big Four bank in commercial, estate, and real estate-related litigation, and before that, with a longstanding Madison Avenue boutique litigation firm specializing in commercial, estate, and real estate litigation. Mr. Kloter began his legal career at his family’s general practice firm in Connecticut, which remains the oldest operating law firm in that town. Education & Recognitions
Mr. Kloter, a College Board Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction, was named a Lawrence Scholar and was graduated from Connecticut College, magna cum laude, in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts and Distinction in both major fields in History and Government (Political Science). He was elected to Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society, and served as a student body Vice-President. Mr. Kloter was named a Thomas K. Ellsworth Scholar and graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 2008, where he was presented with the CALI Excellence Award for best paper in American Legal History. Mr. Kloter is admitted to practice in the States of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, as well as before the United States District Court for the Districts of Connecticut, New Jersey, Southern and Eastern New York, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Education
Mr. Kloter received his J.D. from University of Connecticut School of Law in 2008, where he received a CALI Excellence Award for best paper in American Legal History.
Mr. Kloter was graduated from Connecticut College in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Government, magna cum laude, with Distinction in both major fields, and was elected to Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society.
